ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth made short work of Alfred in an Empire 8 Conference women's tennis match Sunday as the Golden Flyers won all six singles matches in an 8-1 victory.
Nazareth remained unbeaten at 5-0, while Alfred dropped to 0-3.
The Saxons had just four players on their roster, so the Golden Flyers won two singles matches and one doubles match by forfeit. Outside of that, the Golden Flyers got singles wins from freshman
Aliya Guzman, graduate student
Brooke Murphy, senior
Marissa Towers and junior
Caroline Keegan.
Guzman and Murphy teamed up for an 8-2 victory at first doubles. Alfred's lone point came at second doubles, where Cassondra Mark and Kimberly Rauber scored an 8-4 victory over Nazareth's duo of Keegan and
Hannah Chesner.
Nazareth plays again Saturday at home against St. John Fisher in the the final regular-season match at 1 p.m.
