ROCHESTER, NY – Four first-place finished for the Nazareth College Equestrian team helped the Golden Flyers end the fall season on a high note as Nazareth played host to the annual Fall Show at Lehman Farms over the weekend.
Nazareth finished the weekend fourth out of 10 teams in the event.
Senior Madisyn Marks took first place in the Intermediate Flats competition Saturday and was joined by junior Taylor Ball (first place Novice Flat) and junior Carlie Haase (first place Pre-Novice Flat) as top place finishers on the first day of competition.
On Sunday, freshman Katherine Higgins was the top finisher in Pre-Novice Flat for the Golden Flyers.
In addition to the first place finishes Saturday, sophomore Danielle Dunn was second in Limit Flat, sophomore Arden Tills was second in Pre-Novice Flat and junior Kylie Baker was second in Introductory Flat. Freshman Madison Rettig (third Introductory Flat), junior Olivia Quattrococchi (third Introductory Flat), sophomore Cailyn Bedwell (fourth Introductory Flat) along with freshman Faith Hainsworth (fifth Limit Flat and sixth Limit Fences) and Marks (sixth Intermediate Fences) were top finishers for the Golden Flyers.
Higgins was joined Sunday by Marks (second Intermediate Flat and fourth Intermediate Fences), Dunn (second Limit Fences and third Limit Flat), Bedwell (second Introductory Flat), Rettig (third Introductory Flat) and Tills (third Pre-Novice Flat) as the top finishers.
Hainsworth was fourth in Limit Flat and fifth in Limit Fences, senior Caroline Breitweiser was fifth in Novice Flat, freshman Kendal Guzyk was fifth in Novice Flat while Baker and Quattrococchi were each fourth in Introductory Flat for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers will start Spring competition February 19 at Alfred University.
