WEST CHILI, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Claire Bargabos was Nazareth's top finisher in 31st place with a 5k time of 20:08.7 as the Golden Flyers women's cross country team competed at the Harry Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan.
Nazareth finished in 10th place with a team score of 224. Roberts won the women's race with 23 points, followed by Geneseo (80), St. Bonaventure (119), SUNY ESF (151), Cortland (155), LeMoyne (211), Houghton (211), William Smith (212), Penn State Behrend (223) and Nazareth.
Sophomore
Erin Reyner (20:38.8) and freshman
Megan Morin (20:44.0) were the next two finishers in 41st and 45th place respectively.
Juniors
Kelly Artini (20:53.8) and
Hannah Hullihen (21:53.9) also factored into the Nazareth scoring by finishing 53rd and 92nd.
Other Nazareth competitors were freshmen
Alexis Anagnostopulos (22:06.1), MacKenzie Carney (22:26.7),
Carolyn Carlic (22:49.9) and
Hannah Kuc (23:57.4) and sophomore
Madeline Dovi (22:32/8).
In the men's race, freshmen Nate McNally and Nate Bowers were the top two individual finishers for the Golden Flyers.
Nazareth accumulated 258 team points to finish ninth. Roberts was first with 23 points, followed by Geneseo (69), St. Bonaventure (155), Penn State Behrend (160), LeMoyne (164), Fredonia (172), Cortland (190), Houghton (217) and Nazareth. Twenty-one teams competed overall.
McNally paced Nazareth in 31st place with an 8-kilometer time of 27:12.1. Bowers was three places and five seconds behind with a time of 27:17.5.Â
Other competitors for the Golden Flyers included junior Michael Brown in 66th place (28:11.7), sophomore Josh Tomaka in 86th place (28:51.6), sophomore Jake Suddaby in 91st place (28:56.9) and freshman Lucas Sharron in 108th place (29:21.2).
