AURORA, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth dominated Wells from start to finish Tuesday as the Golden Flyers gained a 14-1 non-conference field hockey victory over the Express.
Seniors
Jennifer Hilts and
Alexandra Livesey each scored two goals as did junior
Emilee Rosenberg, sophomore
Cassandra Kamens and freshman
Grace Wasileski. Nazareth improved to 7-9 overall and Wells dropped to 0-15.
Nazareth scored three times in the first quarter and four more times in the second to take an insurmountable 7-0 lead. Kamens scored her first two career goals -- both off assists from
Olivia Callery -- early in the second half and Callery delivered her first career goal as the lead ballooned to 10-0 before Wells scored.
Wasileski added her first two career goals in the second half, while Rosenberg and
Abbey Szumloz also scored.
Nazareth had a 31-2 edge in shots and a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Amanda Chuttey played the first three quarters in goal and freshman
Jessica Holtz played the fourth quarter in goal. Hilts also added an assist to boost her career totals to 35 goals, 18 assists for 88 points.
The Golden Flyers return to Empire 8 Conference play Saturday with a game at Elmira at 1 p.m.
