LETCHWORTH, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Letchworth State Park to resume their respective seasons Saturday. Competing in SUNY Geneseo's 40th annual Mike Woods Invitational, the Golden Flyers finished in 15th place in the men's team standings with 360 points. Geneseo won the title with 32 points, followed by Laurentian (69) and Rowan (77). The Golden Flyers ran 10th in the women's competition with 245 points. Geneseo dominated once again with 17 points, trailed by Laurentian (72) and RIT (89).
Sophomore Chris Celecki set the pace for Nazareth in the men's 8-kilometer race by finishing in 71st place with a time of 27:43.9. Sophomore Michael Brown finished 92nd (28:03.6) and freshman Josh Tomaka was 94th (28:05.3).
Other Nazareth competitors were senior Andrew Gwynn, 130th place (28:39.2); freshman Jake Suddaby, 135th place (28:42.4); senior Jack Wessel, 147th place (28:53.5); freshman Josh Pomerleau, 171st place (29:22.9); sophomore Devyn Chase, 217th place (30:36.2); and freshman Patrick Healy, 245th place (31:44.5).
Freshman
Hayley Cronin ran well for Nazareth in the women's race by placing 14th with a 6-kilometer time of 23:21.7. Junior Masria Staehr finished in 62nd place (24:56.3) and sophomore Dierdre Brett finished in 67th place (25:01.1). Sophomore
Lauren Guilfoil finished in 96th place (25:31.7).
