ALBANY, N.Y. -- Another game, another tie for the Nazareth women's soccer team Saturday. The Golden Flyers got a late second-half goal from freshman Morgan Siewert to gain a 2-2 tie with Sage in Empire 8 Conference play.

Combined with Wednesday's 1-1 tie at home against Utica, Nazareth is 3-2-3 overall and 0-0-2 in conference games. Sage is 4-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in Empire 8 action. Nazareth also played to a 1-1 tie at Ithaca in a non-league game last Saturday.

Siewert's first career goal came on a blast from the left side from about 25 yards away and knotted the score at 2-2 in the 78th minute. The teams then battled through the remainder of regulation and a pair of 10-minute overtimes without scoring again.

The Golden Flyers outshot Sage 6-4 in the overtime periods, but could not capitalize. Sage had a 24-20 shooting edge overall and junior goalie Hannah Miller was called upon to make 16 saves, equaling a career high.

The score was tied 1-1 at halftime as Samantha Trimblett scored early for Sage and senior Mary LoCicero's connected for her team-leading fourth goal for Nazareth in the 12th minute.

Sage took a 2-1 lead in the second half as Maegan Villa scored in the 55th minute, forcing Nazareth to rally again.

LoCicero generated four of Nazareth's 20 shots, including three on goal. Elizabeth Guidi, Mary Kate ordway, Caleigh Cahoon and Mia Longo had two shots each.

Nazareth plays again Tuesday in a non-league game at Rochester at 7 p.m.
