ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Freshman Kyla Thompson scored a pair of goals and five other players recorded multiple points leading the Nazareth College women's hockey team to its sixth consecutive victory with a 9-2 win over King's College Saturday afternoon in a United College Hockey Conference (UCHC) game at the Bill Gray's Iceplex.

Gabriella DeMeo, Cristina Darby, Hailey Redders, Nikolle Van Stralen and Keeley Rose each added multiple points with a goal and an assist each for the Golden Flyers (6-0 overall, 2-0 UCHC).

DeMeo and Darby each scored in the first period to give Nazareth the early lead and Redders added her sixth goal of the season early in the second period before King's (1-5, 0-4) scored its first goal of the weekend series. The goal snapped a streak of nearly 330 minutes of scoreless hockey for the Golden Flyers dating back to the first 90 seconds of the first game of the season.

Nazareth added a goal late in the period as Thompson score the first of her two goals to give the Golden Flyers a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes of action.

Delaney Carle and Mikayla Rubin scored goals within a span of less than two minutes early in the third period to boost the lead to 6-1. Rubin's goal was a shorthanded goal.

Thompson added her second goal at 12:20 and Rose scored her team-leading seventh goal of the year two minutes later to extend the lead.

King's scored again with less than four minutes to play and Van Stralen capped the scoring for Nazareth with 23 seconds remaining.

Noelle Giroux made nine saves for the Golden Flyers as she moved to 2-0 on the season.

Nazareth will play a pair of games at Stevenson next weekend.
