ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sophomore Alexandra Livesey scored a career-high three goals and senior Jessica Livesey added a pair of goals and an assist as the Nazareth College Field Hockey team scored an 8-0 victory over Elmira College Tuesday night in an Empire 8 matchup at Nazareth.
Nazareth (7-7 overall, 2-2 E8) scored three times in the first half with each sister scoring once and Jessica adding an assist on a Jennifer Hilts goal with less than five minutes to play in the opening period to give the Golden Flyers the early 3-0 lead.
Elmira (4-7, 1-3) did not have a shot in the first half.
The elder Livesey scored early in the second half for her second goal of the game and the fifth point of the night which moved her past the 50-point milestone for her career.
Alexandra Livesey added her second goal of the game 18 minutes later before freshman Mikaylee Whalen scored twice including one on a penalty stroke with less than 10 minutes to play.
Livesey completed her hat trick with her third goal of the game three minutes later to cap the scoring.
Elmira managed five second-half shots with senior Kimber Nourse making four saves and fellow senior Leah Good being credited with a defensive save.
The Nazareth players warmed up in pink jerseys and wore Breast Cancer Awareness sox for the game to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.
The Golden Flyers play their next three games on the road with key Empire 8 games at Stevens Saturday and at Sage on Oct. 20 before completing the three-game stretch at Geneseo Oct. 21.
