Team scores and results
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. -- Nazareth's women's golf team finished in seventh place over the weekend at the Empire 8 Conference Championships at Ballston Spa Country Club.
Led by and eighth-place individual finish by sophomore
Deanna Tinch, the Golden Flyers posted team scores of 410 and 407 for an 817 total. Cortland won the team title in the 11-team event with scores of 331 and 336 for a 667 total. That score easily outdistanced second-place Suffolk (731) and third place Johnson & Wales (762). St. John Fisher (763), Husson (767), Westfield State (782), Nazareth, Rhode Island College (825), Keuka (854), Canton (958) and Utica (966) also competed.
Tinch earned second-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors following rounds of 89 and 88 for a 177 total. Cortland's Danielle Bambola earned medalist honors with identical rounds of 74 for a 148 total.
Sophomore
Sara McCall finished with scores of 100 and 98 for a 198 total to finish in 25th place. Junior
Olivia Dowdle had scores of 104 and 104 for a 208 total, good for a tie for 33rd place. Freshman
Keelin Paquette had two rounds of 117 for a 234 total and 41st place.
