ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sam Smyth scored twice and added an assist and Francesco Viavattene and Jake Adams each had a goal and an assist for host Nazareth Monday as the Golden Flyers closed out their regular-season men's soccer schedule with a 5-0 non-conference victory over Hartwick.

Nazareth is 11-6-1 overall and will participate in post-season play this weekend as the No. 3 seed for the Empire 8 Conference Tournament this weekend in Hoboken, N.J. Nazareth plays second-seeded Alfred Saturday at 12 p.m. with fourth-seeded St. John Fisher playing Stevens at 3. The championship game is Sunday at 1 p.m. with the winner gaining an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Nazareth had little difficulty Monday against the Hawks, who are making the difficult transition from Division I to Division III. The Hawks are 0-14 after being outshot by Nazareth 26-5.

The Golden Flyers scored once in the first half when Viavattene redirected a pass by Adams into the goal in the 32nd minute.

Smyth had two of the goals -- his sixth and seventh of the season -- and assisted on Adams' team-leading eighth goal in the 63rd minute. Glenn Ramos gained the assist on Smyth's first goal on a pass from the right wing. Viavattene was credited with an assist on Smyth's second goal.
