Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls to SUNY Geneseo on the Road.

GENESEO, N.Y. -- SUNY Geneseo scored three times in the first 10 minutes of play and cruised to a 7-0 win over the Nazareth College field hockey team Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game on the College Stadium Turf Field.

The Knights (9-5) wasted little time in setting the tone for the game with the first goal of the game at the 5:11 mark and then added to their lead with a pair of goals in a span of 27 seconds with a goal at 8:44 and another at 9:11 to take the 3-0 lead. The goal at the 9:11 mark came on a penalty stroke.

Nazareth (8-9) regrouped and kept Geneseo off the board for the remainder of the first half as senior Kimber Nourse finished with nine saves in the first 35 minutes.

In the second half, the Knights extended the lead with another penalty stroke goal 11 minutes into the period and then scored three additional goals in the final 15 minutes for the final 7-0 win.

Nourse finished with 10 saves on the day and freshman Amanda Chuttey played the final eight minutes and made a pair of saves. The Golden Flyers defense also had defensive saves by sophomore Abbey Szumolz who collected two and senior Emily Prescott who stopped one.

Nazareth will wrap up the regular season with a pair of home games as St. John Fisher comes to Nazareth Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. game and Utica College travels to Rochester Saturday to close out the regular season.
