Geneseo, NY – Geneseo's Joey Vucic broke a scoreless tie in the second overtime as the host Knights defeated Nazareth 1-0 Tuesday night.
Nazareth and Geneseo each move to 6-4-1 on the season after the Tuesday night result.
In a game which Geneseo held a 23-4 edge in shots, Nazareth benefited with strong play all night from goalkeeper
Brian Wilkin. He finished the game with eight saves.
With the clock reading 101:28, Connor Ross sent in a pass from the right flank that rolled across the 6-yard box to Vucic for a one-time game-winning goal.
The Knights had another strong chance from Vucic in the first overtime as he fired a free kick over the wall from 30-yards out just wide of the net.
Nazareth was credited with a team save in the 39
th minute to help keep the hosts off the board.
Dan Serpe led Nazareth with two shots, while
Matt Gasbarre and
Serkan Ozay added a shot.
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, hosting Alfred at 3 p.m.
