Oneonta Handles Field Hockey, 7-0

Rochester, NY – Visiting Oneonta increased its win streak to 10 games with a 7-0 win over Nazareth Sunday on the Artificial Turf.  The high-powered Red Dragon offense put in three goals in the first half and four in second.

Nazareth falls to 1-13 overall with the defeat, while Oneonta moves to 12-2.

Jessica Livesey put a shot wide eight minutes in.  She took a centering pass on the left side and put the attempt just wide of the net.

Oneonta was awarded penalty stroke at 11:13 for covering the ball and Allyson Wells scored her 10th goal of the season for the first goal of the game.

In the 15th minute, Nicole Johnston fired a shot from 15-yards out into the near post to give the Red Dragons a 2-0 advantage.

Wells centered a pass from the endline that Grace Bilow converted with 13 minutes remaining in the half to push the lead to 3-0.

With 9:38 left in the half, Jennifer Hilts carried the ball down the left side and ripped shot that was deflected by the keeper outside the post. 

Early in the second half, Julia Parody made a defensive save on the post to keep the score at 3-0.

Nicole Johnston and Ally Wells each put home goals in the second half to finish with two apiece in the game.  Oneonta added two other goals form Cali Cortese and Alise Anson to round out the scoring.

Kimber Nourse logged 51:16 in net, making 11 saves and allowing six goals.  Ashley Mann played the final 18:44, finishing with two saves and one goal against.

Nazareth had 16 shots in the game, including three from Hilts, Jessica Livesey, Madison Bianchi, and Lydia Dewart.

Nazareth continues its homestand on Tuesday, when it takes on Brockport at 5 p.m.
