Box | Updated stats
GENESEO, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth kept its shutout streak intact Thursday in a non-conference women's soccer match at Geneseo. The Golden Flyers, however, couldn't score either as the teams played to a 0-0 tie. Nazareth is 2-0-1 overall, while Geneseo is 1-0-2.

After shutout wins over Allegheny (3-0) and Mount Saint Mary (1-0) to open the season last weekend, the Golden Flyers kept Geneseo off the scoreboard for 90 minutes of regulation play and 20 more minutes of overtime to extend their shutout streak to 290 minutes. Senior goalie Allison Dobles was the beneficiary with the third straight shutout after recording eight saves. Dobles now has 18 career shutouts. Nazareth now is 14-9-2 against Geneseo in the overall series.

Thursday's game was contested mostly between the two penalty areas. Geneseo had a 17-12 advantage in shots, but Nazareth had four shots in overtime compared to none for the Knights. Senior Michaela Soules and junior Julia Delgatti each had four shots for Nazareth. Erin O'Connor had seven of Geneseo's shots and goalkeeper Emily Janiszewski was credited with seven saves.

Nazareth returns to Geneseo Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference game against Brockport. The game is part of the Golden Challenge for a Pink Cure breast cancer awareness fundraiser. Geneseo hosts St. John Fisher that night at 7.
