Delgatti's Hat Trick Powers Naz Past RIT, 4-0

ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Julia Delgatti recorded a hat trick in the first 20 minutes against RIT on Wednesday to propel the Golden Flyers to a 4-0 victory in non-conference action.  Jordyn Ruston added a goal for Nazareth in the second half.

Nazareth improves to 4-1-2 with the victory, while the Tigers fall to 4-2-1.

Senior Michaela Soules connected on a service to Delgatti in the fifth minute to jump-start the Nazareth offense.  Laura Herman was also credited with an assist on the goal.

Shorly after, Delgatti was at it again, scoring an unassisted goal just 2:43 later.

The junior transfer scored her third goal of the game in the 21st minute to up the lead to 3-0 off Herman's second assist of the day.  Delgatti now has four goals on the season after her three goal output.

Nazareth made it 4-0 12 minutes into the second half off a corner kick. Ruston scored her first goal as a member of the Purple and Gold on a header served up by Kate Billington.

Nazareth stood strong on defense, earning its fifth shutout of the season.  Allison Dobles made four saves in net to keep the blank slate.

RIT held a 13-10 advantage in shots, but did not manage to get on the scoreboard.

Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, when it will take on Stevens at 12 p.m.  Stevens in undefeated at 6-0 and ranks sixth nationally.
