Updated StatsClermont, FL – Twelve different players found the back of the net as Nazareth cruised to an 18-1 victory over Methodist University Thursday afternoon.
Suzie Gray led the way with four goals, while
Gabbie Charles,
Haley DeVona, and
Carly Gates each scored twice in the game.
Nazareth improves to 3-0 on the season with the win, while Methodist drops to 3-3.
The Golden Flyers scored 13 goals in the opening 30 minutes, including two on the man-up opportunity at the hands of
Kate Rothrock and
Nicole DeVona.
Gray scored all four of her goals in the first half after she led the Golden Flyers with six tallies in Tuesday's win over Emerson. She also added an assist in the game to
Jessica Locey.
In the second half,
Morgan Johnson scored her first goal of the season on the extra-man advantage.
Hayley Spoljaric also scored her first of the season in the second half.
Goalkeeper McKenzie Corbett improved to 3-0 on the season after playing the first 30 minutes. Freshman
Brianna Rizzari saw her first action in net, allowing just one goal and making five saves in the second half.
Jamie Martin,
Katie Carroll, and
Katia Hernas each added a goal in the game.
The Golden Flyers finished with 29 shots to Methodist's nine.
Nazareth returns to action on Tuesday, when it will host RIT at 4 p.m. in hits home-opener.
