Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw With Elmira

ELMIRA, NY – Nazareth and Elmira played 110 minutes to a scoreless draw on Sunday at Ernie Davis Academy.  The game was re-scheduled from Saturday afternoon due to field conditions.
 
Nazareth earns its second conference tie of the season.  The Golden Flyers move to 4-8-2 overall and 0-4-2 in conference play, while Elmira moves to 4-9-2 and 1-4-1, respectively.
 
Statistically, it was a fairly even game, with the Golden Flyers holding a 21-20 edge in shots.  Elmira finished the game with six corner kicks to two for Nazareth.
 
Nate Ripic made five saves in net to earn his second shutout of the season.
 
In the overtime periods, both Nazareth and Elmira finished with four shots apiece.  Ripic made two saves in the overtime period to preserve the shutout.  
 
Christopher Rowland mustered five shots in the game, while Ben Garcia had four.
 
Nazareth will close out the season with its final two games at home.  The Golden Flyers host Cazenovia at 3 p.m. on Tuesday and take on Utica at 1 p.m. Saturday for Senior Day.
