RESULTSROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Nazareth College Swimming and Diving teams hosted St. Lawrence University on Saturday, with each squad picking up a victory. Nazareth's men won 175-106, while the women pulled off a 160-130 victory.
On the women's side,
Kimberly Pedrotti won three events while
Cameron Hess won two. Pedrotti clocked a 2:35.16 in the 200-meter butterfly, a 2:53.23 in the 200-meter breastroke, and a 2:35.12 in the 200-meter IM. Hess won the 400-meter freestyle in 4:46.64 and the 800-meter freestyle in 9:43.88.
Also picking up a win for Nazareth was
Brittany Heffler after finishing in 1:19.98 in the 100-meter breastroke. Nazareth swept the top three spots in that event with
Erika Holland (1:21.44) and
Shannon O'Malley (1:26.31) taking the next two spots.
Nazareth's 200-meter medley relay team of Holland, O'Malley, Heffler, and
Kenna Hartmann touched first in 2:11.86.
The men's team saw five individuals pick up two victories apiece. Dan Burke set the school record in the 200-meter backstroke (2:07.71) and also picked up a win in the 200-meter freestyle (1:59.14). Robert Draper won the 400 and 800-meter freestyle in times of 4:28.75 and 9:09.0, respectively.
Rob Coatsworth secured both the 100 and 200-meter breastroke events. He touched in 1:12.36 in the 100 and 2:38.22 in the 200. Also winning two of the same-style events was Matt Leverich in the 50-meter (25.80) freestyle and the 100-meter (55.71). Rounding out the dual winners for Nazareth was Alex LaPoint, winning the 100-meter backstroke (1:00.4) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:01.87).
Sophomore Ian Deveney was also a winner in the 200-meter butterfly, clocking a 2:28.63.
Nazareth started the day with a win in the 200-meter medley relay as Burke, LaPoint, Leverich, and Coatsworth notched a 1:51.72.
The Golden Flyers return to action next Saturday, taking on host Fredonia at 1 p.m.
