Box l Updated Stats
ROCHESTER, N.Y.  – Sophomore Laura Herman netted a goal in each half as the Nazareth women's soccer team upended Skidmore College 2-0 Saturday at Golden Flyer Stadium on Senior Day.  It was the 11th time this season that Nazareth has recorded a shutout.

Nazareth ends the regular season with a 12-2-3 record overall, while Skidmore falls to 5-10-1.

All eight seniors started the game for Nazareth, including Ashley Paris and Danielle Wilkin who suffered injuries earlier in the season.

Nazareth was able to get onto the board in the 33rd minute as Sarah Conroy threaded a pass from beyond midfield to the foot of Herman.  The sophomore chipped the ball over the charging Thoroughbreds keeper for the tally.

The score remained 1-0 at the half.

Nazareth kept pressuring in the second half as Herman almost notched her second goal of the game, getting behind the defense in the 74th minute but goalkeeper Alyssa Rollins came out to make a difficult save.

The offense was able to add another tally late with Briana Vibbard finding Herman for her second of the game.  Herman out-raced the defense and put it past the Thoroughbreds goaltender.

Mackenzie Dunphy registered her first shutout of the season, making five saves in net.

Nazareth, the No. 3 seed in the Empire 8 tournament, will square off against second-seeded Ithaca College on Friday, November 6th in the semifinals hosted by top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology.  The Ducks take on fourth seeded Houghton College in the other semifinal match, with the winners advancing to the Championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m.
