ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Sophomore Jennifer Lachell shot a score of 89 Sunday to help Nazareth maintain its second-place standing at the Empire 8 Conference Women's Golf Championships at Mark Twain Golf Club.

Lachell and freshman teammates Kelley Citrin and Meaghan Porter each earned second-team all-conference honors as Nazareth placed second in the five-team event with a team score of 800. Ithaca won the tournament after having the top five place finishers, including medalist and Player of the Year Sharon Li (82-78--160). Elmira (936), Houghton (997) and St. John Fisher (1013) also competed.

Lachell's 89 was preceded by Saturday's 97 for a 186 total, good for sixth place individuallly. Citrin was named E8 Rookie of the Year after posting scores of 94 and 106 for a 200 total. Porter was next with identical rounds of 101 for a 202 total.

Other Nazareth competitors were freshmen Anouluck Chanthadandith (106-106--212) and Sarah Gosek (110-112--222) and senior Mindy Fowler (120-124--244).
