CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Senior
Michelle Van Slyke shot a second-round score of 78 Sunday to finish in a tie for sixth place individually at the Martin/Wallace Invitational for women's golf at Cortland Country Club.
Combined with her first-round score pf 82, Van Slyke finished with a two-round total of 160, seven shots behind medalist Theresa Apoznanski of New York University. Four players from tournament titlist Methodist also finished ahead of Van Slyke, who finished in a three-way tie for sixth place with Cortland's Rebecca Studin and St. Lawrence's Aimee Caligore.
Nazareth finished ninth in the team standings with a two-day score of 798. Methodist won the team title by 30 strokes with a score of 621, NYU was a distant second.
Freshman
Jamie Schmidt and sophomore
Jenee Vanderstyne also competed for Nazareth and had finished 27th and 29th respectively. Schmidt had rounds of 91 and 92 for a 183 total. Vanderstyne shot 93 and 94 for a 187 total. Freshman
Alyssa Moffat and junior
Mindy Fowler also played and shot 268 and 296 respectively.
