Nazareth downs Westminster, 8-1

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Nazareth's women's tennis team won five of six singles matches and all three doubles contests Thursday in an 8-1 spring break victory over Westminster. Nazareth also gained its first men's tennis win of the season, 8-1 over Westminster.

In the women's match, Nazareth won five singles matches and all three doubles contests. Seniors Rachel Leonard, Danielle Carinci, and Jessica Faber each won in straight sets. Junior Elizabeth Way and sophomore Sherrita Wilkins also won matches.

Leonard and sophomore Kelly Noble were successful at first doubles with the tandems of Faber and Way and Carinci and Wilkins also winning.

In the men's match, junior Steve Trobert rallied from a first-set defeat to win at second singles. Sophomore Adam Landry, juniors Alex Bodensieck, Alex Wilczak and Dan Matteo each won in straight sets as did freshman Colin Doran#.

Doran also teamed with Ben Caiella for a 8-0 win at third doubles and Bodensieck and Wilczak won at second doubles.
