ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's 2008 women's lacrosse team is among the Division III teams that have been selected as Academic Squads by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
The Golden Flyers were one of 56 Division III teams that were mentioned for having a collective grade-point average of 3.0 or better. In addition, five players gained status on the Academic Honor Roll for '08. To be eligible for that honor, student-athletes must be at least a junior while possessing a minimum GPA of 3.2.
Nazareth honorees were senior
Rachel Baranello and juniors
Hannah Brennan,
Maria Fusco,
Maggie Mullin and
Kate Schneeberger.
Baranello, of Homer, N.Y., graduated in '08 with a 3.66 GPA as a Political Science major. Brennan, of Penn Yan, N.Y., had a GPA of 3.50 as a History Education major; Fusco, of Chaumont, N.Y., has a 3.31 GPA as a Business Administration major; Mullin, of Rochester, has a 3.81 GPA as a Spanish and Business Administration major; and Schneeberger, of Watertown, N.Y., has a 3.77 GPA as a Biology major.
Nazareth finished with a 10-5 record in 2008 and won the regular-season championship in the Empire 8 Conference.
