HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Jill Egmond broke her own school record in the pole vault Saturday as Nazareth competed in the Highlander Invitational for women's track and field hosted by Houghton College.
Egmond cleared a height of 2.88 meters (9 feet, 5 1/4 inches) to finish fourth and to improve upon her mark of 2.80 meters set last Wednesday at the University of Rochester.
Other Nazareth highlights included a first-place finish for junior
Lauren Glaser in the 400-meter dash (1:01.14) and a fourth-place finish in the same event from senior
Jennifer Giebel (1:03.72); a second-place for freshman
Brittany Dodd in the 100-meter hurdles (16.66); a second-place finish for senior
Katie Adams in the shot put (9.78 meters / 32 feet, 1 inch); a fourth-place finish for freshman
Samantha Hickok in the 5,000-meter run (19:55.95); and a seventh-place for junior
Nicole Nolan in the 200-meter dash (:28.45).
