Nazareth tops Brockport, 157-84

Golden Flyers improve to 3-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth won 10 of 13 events Wednesday to win its home opener in women's swimming and diving, 157-84, over Brockport. Junior Lauren McKinney and freshman Jaclyn Conklin each won one individual event and were part of two winning relays. Brockport won the men's meet, 136-75.

The Golden Flyers improved to 3-1 in dual meets. Brockport is 1-1.

Nazareth broke its own pool and school record in the 200-meter freestyle relay as freshmen Rachael Phipps and Holly Gilligan joined McKinney and Conklin to post a first-place time of 1:55.68. McKinney, Conklin, Phipps and junior Jeanne Falco also were part of the opening event, the 200-meter medley relay, that finished first in 2:11.14.

Conklin also helped Nazareth finish 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle. She won in :29.03 and was followed by Phipps in second and freshman Rachel Hayes in third. McKinney also won the 200 butterfly in 2:39.42.

Other Nazareth winners were junior Erin Rappold in the 800-meter freestyle (9:47.67); freshman Sara Weigel in the 200-meter freestyle (2:18.94); Falco in the 200-meter IM (2:41.91); junior Courtney Pilc in the 400-meter freestyle (4:56.51); junior Lindsey Buzard in 3-meter diving (202.30); and freshman Ashley Palmer in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:59.55).

In the men's meet, Nazareth got first-place finishes from junior #R.C. Weston# in the 200 IM (2:30.34); freshman Dan Walton in the 200 butterfly (2:38.95) and sophomore Jeff Dick in the 200 breaststroke (2:51.71).

The Golden Flyers are off this weekend, but compete again at home Nov. 15 against LeMoyne at 1 p.m.
