Reed makes All-America team

Clary, Zwickl named honorable mention

All-America teams
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Katelynn Reed, a 5-foot-11 junior middle blocker on the Nazareth women's volleyball team, has been honored as a third-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The three teams, plus several honorable mention choices were selected by the AVCA's nine-person committee.

In addition to Reed, Nazareth's Mallorie Clary and Kate Zwickl were honorable mention selections.

Reed, of Horseheads, N.Y. and a graduate of Horseheads High School, helped Nazareth to a 29-10 overall record and a second-place finish in the Empire 8 Conference for 2008. She finished second on the team with 280 kills and ranked third nationally in hitting percentage with a .410 success rate. She also led the team with 59 service aces and 78 total blocks.

Clary, of Baltimore, Md. and a graduate of Catonsville High School, earned honorable mention honors as a libero. She served as the Golden Flyers' top defensive specialist by amassing 626 digs (4.71 per set).

Zwickl, of Chester, N.Y. and a graduate of Warwick High School, earned honorable mention honors for the second year in a row. A first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star, Zwickl ranked eighth nationally in assists per set with 10.60. She ranks second all-time in assists with 3,612.
