MENDON, N.Y. -- Allegheny had the top three individual finishers on the way to a first-place finish at the Nazareth Fall Shoot-out for women's golf. The Gators had rounds of 328 and 333 for a 661 total to outscore runner-up Nazareth (366-344 -- 710). Sunday's first round was contested at Irondequoit Country Club, the second round at Mendon Country Club.
Cortland (726) finished third in the two-day event, followed by William Smith (773), Washington & Jefferson (792) and St. John Fisher (801).
Allegheny's Hannah Schonau-Taylor took medalist honors with rounds of 81 and 78 for a 159 total. Teammate Jaime Reints was one stroke behind with rounds of 79 and 81. Lauren Hammell was third (86-83 -- 169).
Cortland's Rebecca Infante finished in a tie for fourth place with W&J's Leslie Walker with scores of 170.
Freshman
Melissa Ciociolo was Nazareth's top finisher in sixth place with identical scores of 86 for a 172 total. Junior
Meaghan Hardy was 11th (98-81 -- 179) and was followed closely by sophomores
Michelle Van Slyke (93-89 -- 182) and
Kayce Wagner (94-88 -- 182) and juniors
Kate Holland (92-93 and
Ann Sessler (93-94 -- 187).
