Golden Flyers host Utica Sunday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The University of Rochester dominated Nazareth in women's tennis action Tuesday as the Yellowjackets scored in all six singles matches as well as three doubles matches for a 9-0 non-conference victory.

UR's Lia Weiner, who won the ITA Northeast singles title at William Smith over the weekend, handed Nazareth's Rachel Leonard just her second singles defeat of the season as she scored a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at first singles.

Weiner also teamed with Lana Polivy to defeat Leonard and Jackeline Martinez at first singles, 8-6. In another close match, UR's Daiane Samuels defeated Nazareth's Danielle Carinci at third singles, 7-5, 6-4.

Nazareth closes its Empire 8 Conference schedule Sunday with a home match against Utica at 1 p.m. The Golden Flyers have already clinched a berth in the E8 Conference Tournament hosted by Stevens Oct. 11-12.
