• An original member of the Nazareth men’s basketball team, Tom Vetter is one of only two players from the original team that played for four seasons
• Vetter’s strong play enabled the Golden Flyers to gain a competitive edge immediately as they posted winning records in three of their first four seasons
• Served as team captain in 1980-81 when Nazareth finished 18-7 and landed a berth in the NAIA Tournament
• Ranks among Nazareth’s all-time leaders in rebounds (445) and field goal accuracy (.539).
• Averaged 12.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 1977-78 and posted a field goal percentage of .603, establishing a school record that stood for eight years
• Said former Nazareth Coach Joe Gigliotti: “Tom was an essential cornerstone in establishing Nazareth as a legitimate intercollegiate athletic program for male student-athletes. . . Tom Vetter (and John Dansler) did more than any other male student-athletes to help successfully establish intercollegiate athletics at Nazareth.”
