• Synonymous with Nazareth lacrosse for 15 years, Scott Nelson started the program from scratch in 1986 the developed the Golden Flyers into an annual contender for the NCAA Division III title
• Guided the Golden Flyers to the NCAA playoffs in just the team's third season; four seasons later (1992), Nazareth won its first of three national titles under Nelson
• Coached Nazareth to national titles in 1996 and 1997, each time edging Washington College in overtime in the championship game
• Nazareth made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances for Nelson, who compiled a 15-year record of 177-40, for one of the highest winning percentages (.816) in all of college lacrosse over than span; Nazareth also made five championship game appearances
• Named Empire 8 Conference Coach of the Year in 2000 and Super Six Conference Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999
• Coached 90 All-Americans and had 32 players selected to North-South all-star game
• Inducted into the Rochester/Western New York Chapter of the Lacrosse Foundation's Hall of Fame in 1996
