• Former college president (1976-1984) who made Nazareth athletics a high priority during his eight years of service
• Started the men's sports program with inception of basketball and swimming in 1977
• Responsible for the elevation of Nazareth's athletic program to NCAA Division III level
• Oversaw construction of the Otto A. Shults Community Center which houses the Kidera Gymnasium and the swimming pool
• Oversaw the development of the soccer/lacrosse field and the start of the men's and women's soccer programs in 1980 and 1983 respectively.
• Established the Kidera Scholar-Athlete award, presented annually to a male and female student-athlete in good standing with a 3.0 or better grade-point average
