• The first-ever women's basketball coach in 1974-75, Maley was a part of the Nazareth athletics program from its inception 

• Coached Doreen LaDonna, the program's first 1,000-point scorer and a Sports Hall of Fame inductee in 1996

• Maley was a member of the Nazareth faculty for more than 40 years, serving as a professor of Business and Economics from 1967 - 2005, mentoring hundreds of student athletes 

• He served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program from 2012-2014

• Maley was a fixture at Golden Flyer sporting events, being an avid of Nazareth athletics up until his passing in 2024
