• Truly exemplified the Nazareth College spirit through his dedication and devotion to Nazareth sports
• Recognized as the college's first sports information director, Erickson worked as a mouthpiece for the Nazareth sports program
• Recipient in 1990 of ECAC Distinguished Service award, presented annually to a behind-the-scenes person who has dutifully served the athletic department
• Said former colleague Lary Bump: "Scoop really cared about the student-athletes and everyone respected him for that."
• Served as a public relations assistant at Nazareth from 1983-90, then officially retired
