Phipps won two races, including a record-breaking effort in the 50-meter freestyle to pace the Golden Flyers last Saturday in a 153-135 women's swimming and diving victory over St. Lawrence. Phipps broke both the pool and school record in the 50 free with a time of :27.54. She eclipsed the school record held by Kim Schneider (:27.71) since 1994 and the pool record of :27.62 held by Geneseo's Danielle Schoen since 1999. She also finished first in the 100-meter freestyle (1:01.22).
