Thomas recorded nine trys, including four in the semifinal victory over the University at Albany, as Nazareth's rugby team earned a second-place finish at the first Liberty Rogby Conference pool-play tournament of the season. He was named "Man of the Match" by his teammates.Nazareth won all three of its pool-play matches and then downed Albany 27-14 to advance to the championship match, where the Golden Flyers were defeated by Iona 15-7.
