France, a senior defender, scored his first career goal in the 59th minute Saturday to lift top-seeded Nazareth to its first Empire 8 Conference men's soccer title since 2006 with a 1-0 win over Alfred. France was named the tournament MVP after he flicked a left-footed shot into the upper left-hand corner of the goal to provide the margin. Nazareth also gained its first NCAA bid since '06.
