Koch helped the Golden Flyers to a successful start of the 2018-19 swimming and diving season as Nazareth recorded dual meet wins over Alfred and Brockport. Koch was part of four winning events in Friday's win over Alfred as he finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.15), the 100 butterfly (:53.27), the 200 IM (2:00.68) and the 200 medley relay (1:36.75). He went on to capture three more wins in Saturday's home win over Brockport. He finished first in the 400-meter medley relay (3:58.63), the 200-meter IM (2:15.13) and the 100-meter butterfly (:59.50).
