Mertens threw a five-inning no-hitter last Saturday as Nazareth defeated Morrisville, 8-0, in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader. Mertens walked two batters and struck out six in tossing the fourth no-hitter in the softball program's history. Mertens has a 4-2 pitching record in 2016 with a 1.59 ERA.
