Rivera shattered his own school record in the 35-pound weight throw yet again last Saturday as he finished first in that event at Ithaca's Bomber Invitational. Rivera's heave of 19.97 meters equaled 65 feet, 6 1/4 inches and was more than two feet better than his previous best. An All-American in that event last season, Rivera ranks first nationally in that event by more than three feet.
