Pierson earned more honors from the Empire 8 Conference as she was voted Rookie of the Year as well as Field Athlete of the Year for the outdoor track and field season.

Pierson, of Wellsburg, N.Y. and a graduate of Southside High School, enjoyed an honor-laden track and field season for the Golden Flyers as she became the program's first-ever female All-American by placing eighth in the long jump at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in May. Pierson set a school record with a leap of 5.73 meters (18 feet, 9 3/4 inches). She also won Empire 8 and NYSCTC titles.

Pierson's steady improvement was underscored by her 10th-place finish at the national meet during the indoor season. In addition to the long jump, Pierson set Nazareth indoor records in the the 60-meter dash (8.23) and the 200-meter dash (:26.76).
