Griffin excelled for Nazareth Saturday at the Empire 8 Conference Championship meet at Ithaca by placing second in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes and competing on the third-place 4 x 100-meter relay. He broke his own school record with a time of :11.04 in the 100 and narrowly missed the record in the 200 with a time of :22.63.
