Mike Conroy became the Head Athletic trainer in the fall of 2016 for the 24-team program. This marks his seventh year at Nazareth College as a member of the Athletic Training staff. His primary responsibilities include coverage for women's soccer and men's lacrosse teams.

Originally from Rochester, Conroy received his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from SUNY Cortland in 2003. He stayed on as a graduate assistant at Cortland to receive his Master's degree in Exercise Science in 2005.

Prior to joining the Golden Flyers, Conroy spent two years at Alfred University as an assistant athletic trainer working primarily with the football team as well as being involved as a clinical instructor and lecturer in the Athletic Training Education Program. He also spent three years at Westfield State University as an assistant athletic trainer and adjunct professor in the Athletic Training education program.

Conroy also has experience working with the Empire State Game, Amerks Youth Hockey Camps and USA women's team handball training camp.

He resides in Brighton with his wife Katie, son Liam, daughter Emma and dog Murphy.

Phil Steckley, former head athletic trainer at Irondequoit High School, was hired in 2014 as assistant athletic trainer at Nazareth. His primary responsibilities include coverage for men's soccer, field hockey, and women's lacrosse teams.

Steckley worked at Irondequoit since 2006 and also has experience as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has had additional athletic training assignments at the University of Rochester, Agape Physical Therapy and Canisius College.

Steckley earned an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine and Physical Education from Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. He has a Master's degree from Canisius. Steckley also has worked for Buffalo Blizzard pro soccer team and the Buffalo Bandits pro lacrosse team.

Steckley resides in Irondequoit with his wife Meg and two daughters.

Ashley Crossway, former Head Athletic Trainer at Turkey Run High School in Indiana, joined the Nazareth athletic training staff in 2017.  Her primary sports include women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, along with softball. 

Crossway relocated from Terre Haute, Indiana to Rochester after graduating with a Doctorate Degree in Athletic Training. Prior to relocating, Crossway was involved teaching in the Professional Athletic Training Education Program at Indiana State University. Crossway is a published researcher, and is passionate about advancing the profession, diversity, and inclusion. 

She resides in Rochester with her dog Benson. 

Originally from Truxton, NY, Ashley received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from SUNY Cortland in 2014.

Kyle Morris, a 2017 graduate of Ithaca College, joined the Nazareth athletic staff in 2018 as an assistant athletic trainer.

Morris graduated from Ithaca with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and last year added a Master's degree from the University of Virginia.

While at Ithaca, Morris worked as an athletic training student, covering men's and women's cross country, tennis and track and field. He also did similar work at Cornell University, where he covered men's ice hockey and sprint football. At Virginia, he worked as a graduate assistant with a primary focus on men's tennis.

While at Ithaca, Morris also served a one-year term as president of the Athletic Training Students Association. He maintains memberships in the National Athletic Training Association and the Virginia Athletic Training Association and is certified in first aid through the American Red Cross.

Jessicanne Pacatte, assistant athletic trainer at Hartwick College for the past two years, was named assistant athletic trainer at Nazareth in 2018. She previous worked for the Golden Flyers as a student assistant in 2016.

At Hartwick, in Oneonta, N.Y., Pacatte was assigned to work primarily with varsity and junior varsity football, men's lacrosse and women's water polo. At Nazareth, she worked with men's and women's hockey, men's lacrosse and men's and women's swimming and diving.

Pacatte also has had training stints with The College at Brockport and Spencerport High School. She obtained an Associate of Science degree in Health Science Studies from SUNY Cobleskill and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree from Brockport. She holds certifications with the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers Association and is a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard.


Brian Giordano
Team Physician

Dr. Brian Giordano recently became the official team physician of the Nazareth College Golden Flyers.

A native of Palmyra, N.Y., Giordano earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Following that, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Kerlan Jobe Orthropaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He's cared for several sports teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and other professional and collegiate teams.

Giordano is board-eligible in orthopaedic surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association. He has authored several articles on topics including radiation exposure and knee disorders.

Giordano also serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is a specialist in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the hip.
