Business Administration major… son of Robert and Jacquelynn Wortel, North Syracuse, N.Y… returning for his fourth season, Wortel ranked first on the team in points with 212.8 and earned the Golden Flyers' High Point Award. . . Wortel was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team (joining R.C. Weston, Dan Walton, and Mike Fritz) that set the school record with a time of 1:38.45 (2/26/09). . . Wortel's top times during the 2008-09 season were: :21.84 in the 50-yard freestyle, :48.54 in the 100-yard freestyle, and 1:47.64 in the 200-yard freestyle. . .  2007-08: Wortel was among the Golden Flyers' top swimmers as he finished third on the team with 111.30 points. . .  top times were :22.69 in the 50 freestyle, :50.34 in the 100 freestyle and 1:51.11 in the 200 freestyle. . . 2006-07: Wortel had an impressive freshman year as he ranked fourth on the team in points after accumulating 179.50 … top performances included 23.32 in the 50-yard free, 50.17 in the 100-yard free, and 1:50.17 in the 200-yard free… Scholastic: a graduate of Cicero North Syracuse High School, Wortel was a member of the swim team for three seasons… received team MVP honors…also competed on the golf and track teams… recipient of Eagle Scout Award, a member of National Honor Society, and a scholar student. . . also competes for the Golden Flyers' golf team.
