ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's sophomore goalie
Ryan Platt has been named Empire 8 Goalie of the Week, while freshman
Alex Manchev has been named Player of the Week.
A native of Preston, England, Platt tallied his sixth shutout this season in a Conference game against RIT on Saturday. Platt had four saves to help the Golden Flyers to their 1-0 victory. This is the third time this season that Platt has been named Goalie of the Week.
Manchev, of Sophia, Bulgaria, scored the winning goal against RIT on Saturday. A forward, Manchev has a team-best seven goals.
With their win against RIT, Nazareth enters this weekend's Empire 8Ttournament with 10-4-2 overall record, including a 5-0-2 mark in the E8. The Golden Flyers will play St. John Fisher Friday at home at 2 p.m.
