Swimmers improve to 3-0

Women win 174-126; men's team falls 154-103

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Visiting Nazareth won 10 of 16 events Saturday in a women's swimming and diving meet at LeMoyne and the Golden Flyers improved to 3-0 with a 174-126 victory over the Dolphins. LeMoyne defeated Nazareth in the men's meet, 154-103.

Sophomore Rachael Phipps and freshman Carissa Risucci each won two races and junior Lindsey Buzard won both diving events to pace the Golden Flyers. Risucci set a pool record in the 200-yard breaststroke with the winning time of 2:28.35. She also captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.78.

Phipps won the 50-yard freestyle (:25.31) and the 100-yard freestyle (:55.87) and Buzard won close competitions in the 1- and 3-meter diving events with scores of 163.55 and 203.20 repsectively.

Other Nazareth winners were senior Erin Rappold in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:22.03), senior Lauren McKinney in the 200-yard IM (2:13.29) and freshman McKenna Murphy in the 500-yard freestyle (5:25.78). Nazareth also won the 200-yard free relay with the team of Holly Gilligan, Phipps, Murphy and Jaclyn Conklin.

LeMoyne dominated the men's meet, although the Golden Flyers four events. Freshman Jacob Kline won twice, taking the 100-yard butterfly in :54.26 and the 200-yard IM in 2:05.63. Freshman Josh Haak was first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:10.03) and freshman Mike Bidwell won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.07).
