Flyers tied for third in E8 poll

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth is picked to finish in a tie for third place in the Empire 8 Conference standings for men's basketball, according to a pre-season poll conducted by the league's head coaches.

The Golden Flyers accumulated 47 points in the poll to finish in a third-place tie with Ithaca. St. John Fisher drew seven of a possible nine first-place votes and were picked first with 63 points. RIT received the remaining two first-place vote and were picked second with 56 points.

The Golden Flyers, led by pre-season All-American selection Corey McAdam and under the direction of first-year coach Kevin Broderick, open their 2009-10 season Tuesday, Nov. 17 with a non-conference game against Roberts Wesleyan at the Blue Cross Arena at 4:30 p.m.
